Our Commitment is to the Heart of Our Hotel, Our Incredible Staff

Since news of COVID-19 spread around the globe, people everywhere have been bracing themselves for the physical and mental health repercussions and the economic fallout associated with the pandemic. Like a dark cloud looming over the planet, the Coronavirus has either directly or indirectly affected individuals from every community and walk of life. From big cities to small towns, like Loreto Mexico, the effects of the current pandemic have been widespread. While it is impossible to alleviate all the stresses of the situation, the owners of Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto have made a commitment to the heart and soul of the hotel, the dedicated staff members who create incredible vacation experiences for guests of the beachfront resort each and every day.

With the limitations placed on travel to Loreto Mexico in recent months and the temporary closure of Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto and TPC Danzante Bay, The Villa Group has been able to help flatten the curve in Mexico. While the decision to close their doors was not an easy one, owners believed it was an important step in protecting employees and the surrounding Loreto Mexico community from the possible spread of Coronavirus infections. In addition to taking such precautionary measures against COVID-19, The Villa Group made a commitment to the employees at Villa del Palmar Loreto, promising to keep paying salaries to their over 500 employees without making any cuts.

Luz María Torres and Owen Perry, the owners of Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto, made it clear that they have the best interests of their employees at heart and that they will do what it takes to ensure everyone on their team is safe. "There will not be a single cut made to our staff and it has also been decided that we will even pay vacations and pending overtime that are due. We will refrain from deducting hours or force unpaid leave, on the contrary, this is about supporting each other in the face of this difficult situation.”

As travel to Loreto Mexico begins to reopen and guests can once again vacation in paradise, the employees at Villa del Palmar Loreto can expect to return to work with the same enthusiasm and love for life as before. While the natural beauty of Loreto Mexico hasn’t changed due to the coronavirus, both guests and employees can rest assured that some resort protocols have, all with the intention of keeping everyone safe. During a time of such uncertainties regarding COVID-19, one thing is clear, the employees at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto are valued and appreciated.
